Based on the novel by Ian McEwan, comes a story. Not just a story, but a beautiful story. It's perfect. Just like this film. As a film critic you search long and hard for a perfect movie. You watch so many movies, and review them, and analyze, and write, and watch and think, but you never expect to find a perfect one. Not in a million years would I have guessed that "Atonement" would be perfect. It amazes you from beginning to end without a SINGLE flaw. I won't even tell you much of the plot other than Briony Tallis(Saoirse Ronan) tells a lie about Robbie Turner(James McAvoy), and that "little" lie alters the lives of everyone.

I saw this movie online, and I was left speechless. I couldn't blink, I couldn't even think. I saw it in the movie theater, and I felt the same way. I babbled about how amazing the film was, but other than that I had no idea what to say at all. It leaves you puzzled, amazed, breathless, shocked, frightened, delighted, light-hearted, warm, cold, crestfallen, etc.

Keira Knightley (Cecilia Tallis) Knightley....what more can I say besides a clearly an unchallengeable Oscar WINNING performance. She is perfect. Literally.
Saoirse Ronan (Briony Tallis) Ronan is headed towards being something extremely special. I'll be thrilled, and anxious to see her in her upcoming films. She plays Briony SO well. Almost TOO well. Throughout the entire film she emits a chilling edge whenever she is on screen. She captivates you.
James McAvoy (Robbie Turner) Arguably an Oscar deserving performance from him as well. He delivers you with burning intensity all through the film. Anger, sorrow, sexuality, endearment, confusion, you name it.
Brenda Blethyn (Grace Turner) she doesn't get a lot of screen time at all, but she makes the scenes she's in enjoyable. She plays Robbie's mother perfectly.
Harriet Walter (Emily Tallis) She gives us the cliche snob/rich mother. But she does it perfectly, and that's the difference on why it isn't a failure.
Patrick Kennedy (Leon Tallis) His scenes with Cecilia (Knightley) verge on incest. I love it. Not incest, but how it's conveyed.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Paul Marshall) The highly succesful and RICH man comes to visit his friend Leon (Kennedy), and to crash at his house. You just know something brilliant will happen!
Juno Temple (Lola Quincey) The stuck-up child who thinks she's better than everybody else. Once again, cliche? Yes, but they do it perfectly and so smoothly. Her family are in the lowest of the low class. Why am I saying this? Oh just a hint.
Felix and Charlie Von Simson (Pierrot and Jackson Quincey, "The Twins") The twins give you a real "olden days" feel when they're on screen which helps make you believe you're in 1935.

Every single scene in this movie is memorable. I can still replay the movie in my head, and not forget any moment. This entire film will mesmerize you. Christopher Hampton must win the award for Best Screenplay. If he doesn't it will sadden my heart because something this wonderful needs to claim it's recognition. Joe Wright directed this film, but he didn't really need too. At the same time he did though. It was just so smooth. So perfect. He also directed "Pride And Prejudice". I also think you should check that one out! I think you get my point that this movie is perfect. I expect you to watch it, and probably think it has a few problems. Come to me though and ask me about them. I guarantee I can clear ANYTHING up for you at all. Seriously. If you haven't watched a single film in your life please watch this one. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone and everyone. This film is my favorite film ever. It's a masterpiece. I'll talk about this movie with anyone at anytime.

I Am Legend: 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars

Dont worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be all right. It will won't it? Robert Neville(Will Smith) is the last man on Earth. The lone survivor of the devastating man-made virus called the KV virus. I won't tell you how it was made, and all that jazz because it is a good surprise, though, I will tell you that it was created to cure cancer. Neville basically dedicates his life to finding a cure for the virus, and constantly does lab research. Neville isn't exactly alone though. Their are creatures in the shadows....watching him.....longing to kill him....waiting for the perfect chance to pounce....Can Neville find a cure in time? Or will he be doomed to suffer the same fate the rest of mankind seems to have faced?

I don't have any really funny quirks to write about here like I usually do, so sorry to disappoint. Although I did see this movie three times at the movie theater. Yeah, I know it would've cost me lots of money if I didn't sneak in two of those times.

Will Smith(Robert Neville) was amazing, I know he wont win an Oscar because he's black(I'm being serious only 4 black actors have EVER won an Oscar, and they all played evil or cruel characters hmmm...fuckin racists people are) but he damn well should. I've been amazed by Smith's performance's since I first watched him in "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air"and "Independence Day". That show was mad funny, and still is. Yes, I watch it on nick at nite sue me. I immediately recognized his excellence in the movie, though, not in the TV show. Nowadays he is an extremely distinguished individual. I'm literally proud of him, and the movies he does. Yes, "Bad Boys" was a bit of a stretch for me I admit, but I still enjoyed it because of him. I can't wait to see his movie "Seven Pounds", it will be GREAT!
Alice Braga(Anna) she has the potential to have potential, but I don't know. She was alright in this film, but I liked her accent. Her next two films: "Crossing Over" and "Redbelt" don't seem to have too much promise. However, look forward to her next two after those which are: "Blindness" and "Repossession Mambo". Both are based on novels, so I'll be looking forward to those.
Charlie Tahan(Ethan) Ehh....he's okay? I guess.....he's young though....maybe he'll actually look like he belongs on the big screen?? Possibly? No? Well....he has a movie coming out that he will be in called: "Nights In Rod-something".....yeah he's got nothing going for him. Poor kid. I want to give him a lollipop. Watch me get arrested now because these days everything is misconstrued as sexual.
Sam(the dog Sam) This dog is awesome enough said.
Dark-Seekers(played be CGI) They actually don't look that bad. Stefan doesn't think so, but so what? We don't have to always listen to Stefan now do we? Seriously though they could've done a way better job, and it does take away from the film in a way. Not the enjoyableness level though. P.S. I didn't even know enjoyableness was a word!

Director Francis Lawrence did an amazing job. He didn't direct the "hell" out of this film like Tim Burton did with "Sweeney Todd", but still an applaudable effort by far. (Props to Stefan) I look forward to seeing Lawrence's upcoming movie: "Snow And The Seven" which is a remake of Snow White. I like the whole Marley music throughout this film it added a touch of relaxation which was ironic and contradicted the films atmosphere as well as one of it's themes. Speaking of the themes they were many in this film. I don't want to mention any because I want you to watch and I want to see what you can come up with. Think of it as a challenge. Sound effects, camera-work, and editing are all a thumbs up. Nearly all of the outstanding scenes have has Neville's dog Sam in them so keep a look out!

What causes this film to drop from a 4 star rating to a less honorable 3 1/2 star rating is: CGI and the fact that they couldn't find somebody to compliment Will Smith. The CGI was poorly done, as I've stated before, but it's just such a shame..... Will Smith doesn't need a compliment, but Anna....they could've chosen someone so much more better, and it would've made them film THAT much better! Hell I would've taken "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix's" Helena Bonham Carter! Overall I definitely recommend this film to all who love movies, and even some of you who don't.

Yesterday was about honor. Today is about justice. Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg), one of the world's great marksmen lives peacefully in the rockies after leaving the military. Then, one day, the government comes, and asks him to help them find a way that the U.S. President might be assassinated in three different cities where he has public meetings. He does his job and helps, but Swagger quickly becomes the fall guy. He must now track down the people who lied to him, and give them justice.

Mark Wahlberg (Bob Lee Swagger) he is outstanding just like he is in every one of his films. "Departed" "Italian Job" "Perfect Storm" in none of those is he as great as he is in this film. You never get sick of him no matter how much of the film's screen-time he's in. If only we could clone him and Depp...we would be unstoppable..
Michael Pena (Nick Memphis) as annoying as he looks he knows how to deliver. His expressions always fit the scene along with his emotion. I look forward to him in "Lions For Lambs". He was in "Babel"...and umm...."Babel"...and another worthwhile movie named...umm..ugh...."Babel"?? Did I..say that one already?..OH! "Gone In Sixty Seconds"!!..oops..lets not mention that one again..
Danny Glover (Colonel Isaac Johnson) From the beginning to end I hate him. He comes back from Saw to haunt me yet again. This lisping f*ck just makes me want to kill. I can't tell if he can act or not because of his annoying lisp that is in EVERY word he says...
Kate Mara (Sarah Fenn) where did she come from? Not only is she really really cute, but she brings out a sensual and sexy vibe the whole time while on screen. Her acting is good, and has the potential to get better with more time....I hope she does get more time too.
Elias Koteas (Jack Payne) delivers fairly good, and almost always does, but goes too over the top in this one. He tries to hard, and it shows in every aspect (expressions, line delivery, emotion).
Ned Beatty (Senator Charles F. Meachum) He's just sooo old...that's the impression I get during all of his screen-time....just old...so so so old...he looks so damn old...he definitely is a good choice to play Senator.

The script, soundtrack, editing, acting, plot, outstanding/memorable scenes are all aspects of this movie. The script is so well written it can be talked about in the same sentence with the script of "Children Of Men". Soundtrack is amazing especially during the fighting scenes. Editing is perfectly done throughout the film which makes following it slightly easier...damn those camera angles!! The acting overall was really solid with few falters...cough cough DANNY GLOVER cough cough. The plot is just well thought out, and...well okay some things aren't believable at all....but overall it's amazing because whether you're for or against the government you get sucked in. It does have outstanding/memorable scenes, and I would talk about some...but I just can't ruin any for you.

Camera angles, and lame emotion afterwards is what kills this film. The camera angles seem to be all over the place throughout the film which makes it hard to follow sometimes. The lame emotion I'm talking about is not directed towards the scenes in the film, but the overall effect you have for the movie as a whole after it's over. It's generally weak, and un-moving. Especially to the heart. Overall I definitely recommend this film because it's a great movie...just don't expect to relish in any great after effects.

Stay Alive: 2 1/2 out of 4 Stars

In this film it's the old game of death...After the brutal death of a friend, Loomis Crowley(Milo Ventimiglia) a group of friends stumble upon a video-game called "Stay Alive." The game is about a true story of a woman known as the "Blood Countess"(Maria Kalinina) who terrorized many children. After playing the game the friends begin to realize that once they die in the game....they die in reality as well. As more and more of them perish the few remaining friends band together to make an attempt to defeat the Blood Countess.

I watched this film a long time ago with a friend, when he still worked at the video store, because he got free rentals. I enjoyed it then, and enjoyed it the 2nd time just as much when I recently viewed it again.

Jon Foster (Hutch) one scene he's believable then in the next he's as believable as a 5 year-old. Certain scenes his facial expressions go along with the emotion in the room then the scene shifts and his expressions become nothing short of laughable. I haven't even mentioned that he keeps his arms stiff throughout the entire film even while he runs.
Samaire Armstrong (Abigail) not only is she cute, but gives you slight and distinct expressions changes that speak loudly through the entire film. She has the 2nd best delivery in this film. The only way she fails you is when she screams...it just doesn't sound like she's being terrorized...gang-banged maybe...
Frankie Muniz (Swink) I remember this guy from the TV show "Malcolm In The Middle" where he was hilarious. In this film he becomes slightly annoying but at least makes most of his lines work. He has the 3rd best delivery in this film. He needs to show other emotions besides fear though...that seems to be his specialty. He still plays someone really smart even though he doesn't look it.
Jimmi Simpson (Phineus)
Sophia Bush (October) arguably the most fun person to watch in the entire film, she delivers the best performance. She's cute, shows just the right amount of emotion, and her expressions and line delivery never falter. *Spoiler* Even after her brother dies, and she goes after the Countess herself she is believable under extremely hard conditions.
Adam Goldberg (Miller Banks) This guy is so bad I wont even waste anymore time talking about him.
Milo Ventimiglia (Loomis Crowley) Reminds me of Johnny Depp from "Secret Window"...that is...without the incredible acting ability.

Sound effects, soundtrack, and make-up are GREAT in this film. That isn't even to mention the game itself. The sound effects, especially when the Countess is around, is so amazing. I wish I could have that guys job...The soundtrack was really simple, but worked really well with this film which is a major plus because if it didn't the film would probably make your head start to droop. Make-up, especially on the Countess, seemed to be a major concentration point...I don't know why but they did do a great job. The game itself/the plot was well thought out, but could've been made so much better.

Camera-work, editing, outstanding scene(s), and acting is what brings this film down. The camera angles can literally make you dizzy, and wonder if the cameramen were drunk or just retarded. Nearly every scene it seems as if they purposely pick the worst spots. The editing is choppy, and I wouldn't doubt if it was done within a 5 minute time-frame. Their are no outstanding/memorable/one that speaks to you scenes in this entire film...besides the top 3 I listed above everyone falls below average and Muniz was only average also and he was in the top 3....Overall I definitely recommend this film. Especially if you are looking for an enjoyable, yet not over the top, thriller.

If You Ain't Outta Control, You Ain't In Control. After killing his car in a street race, Shaun Boswell(Lucas Black) is sent to Japan to live with his Military father. This will allow him to avoid juvy, and even jail. He meets up with a guy named Twinkie(Bow Wow) who is also into the world of street racing. He races against D.K. (Brian Tee) who is in with the Yakuza, and loses. He totals the car borrowed to him becausehe can't do the drifting. To repay for smashing the car he learns how to drift and races to pay his debt. After lots of practice he must go up against the man he lost in the beginning, D.K.

Haha, well I was asked to review this movie by my friend from Arlington Heights because he is a fan of my reviews. Hope I didn't disappoint although this movie wasn't that great.

Lucas Black(Shaun Boswell) did a great job as the leading actor in this film. He doesn't let you down even with the horrible script writing this movie has. He seems to especially shine while on screen with women though...hmm...something's gotta be with that. At times he does go to over the top for a car movie which is his downfall in this film. Bow Wow(Twinkie) god I really hate Bow Wow's music. The only thing I hate more is his acting. It's more like talking to a 5 year old. He needs a lot of acting lessons and classes to even reach the level of high school drama class. I don't know what was wrong with the people who cast him for this movie. He doesn't deliver anything at all, and everytime he's on screen it makes you groan. D.K.(Brian Tee) this guy is japanese, and I love the japanese people. He looks like one of those guys who knows the karate, and would kick your ass. Other than that he does a good job with his role, but as far as him in other movies I don't see it happening. His acting is for this role only, and will only fail at others. It works for this movie though, and that's all that matters. Proof of his poor acting, look at his past appearances...all on tv shows..enough said. Han(Sung Kang) you gotta love this guy. His car gets totaled, and he still can smile and joke and be a kool guy about it. He's just what this movie needed. The calm guy. If he was the usual hyper-anger driven guy because you just totaled his car it wouldn't work. Plus this guy is in the movie War, which I haven't seen but looks kool as hell! Neela(Nathalia Kelley) doesn't really add anything to this movie other than when Lucas Black and her talk. She compliments him so immensely it makes him shine so bright. Other than that, though, she doesnt deliver on any level at all but still not as bad as Bow Wow. I mean what the fucks? Bow Wow? Come on now!

While the cars look great in this film, and the driving and skill used are much exciting and entertaining to watch....the script writing and sometimes bad camera angles along with an overall disappointing acting performance nearly causes this movie to drop into the category of not even worth talking about. The director(Justin Lin) must have gained some common sense though because he at least pieced together a few solid actors and gave us a solid plot to follow. Not to even mention the sweet rides we all were able to look at at, and wish we had. Engines reving andsweet looking cars roaring Justin Lin's movie is amazing. Though often times when the talking begins...you begin to feel a sleepy haze...and everything drifts away... Overall I definitely recommend this film. That's unless you have no desire in cars or driving at all in your life. Than you can just go watch something else....you'll be missing out on a enjoyable movie that will give you a fun time.

Rush Hour 3: 1 1/2 out of 4 Stars

Their finest hour.....well that's what the good old commercials said, but I'd definitely have to disagree. I really don't know whether their was a defined plot, or if they just went with the flow when making this movie. After an assassination attempt on Ambassador Han(Tzi Ma), Lee(Jackie Chan) and Carter(Chris Tucker) head to Paris to learn about the Triad's secrets and stop them once and for all. That is basically all I could come up with here, I know it's not much, but then again this movie wasn't anything much either.

Once again I went with my friend in Arlington Heights to see this movie. We couldn't sneak into this one because their was too many "nigs" patrolling the area, so we had to pay like scrubs. We heard noises after we got back to the crib that could belong to no other than the FRENCHAY though, so we were kinda scared for our lives.

The acting was pretty horrible for the most part, and that's surprising. Jackie Chan(Inspector Lee) was alright in this Rush Hour film, but compared to the past two he didn't even try. It was like he didn't even want to make this film, but was offered a large sum of money so he said what the hell I'll do it. Chris Tucker(Detective James Carter) was slightly worse than Lee, and didn't show any emotion or any real facial expressions throught the entire film which was rather disappointing. Don't get me wrong the chemistry with these two, on screen, is still amazing, but you can't always rely on that to carry you through a film. Genevieve(Noemie Lenoir) was alright as well, but no emotion or real facial expressions either. She was rather dull and boring to watch while she was on screen. Soo Yung(Jingchu Zhang) was slightly better than average, and looked like someone who would be on one of the Dynasty Warrior games for Ps2. At least she showed emotion, and cared about making this a better film. The only actor that did a good job in showing emotion, expression, and cared about his job/life/this film was Kenji(Hiroyuki Sanada). He actually put forth a lot of effort in this film and it showed, and quite possibly payed off for him.

Saying that this movie takes disappointment to a whole new level for hours wouldn't get boring or tiring to read, but it isn't worth taking that much time to talk about this film. Nor go and see it either. The only reason this movie doesn't fail completely was because Kenji showed us their still was hope, their were lots of funny moments just like in the first two films, and last but not least the good old fighting scenes with Lee and Carter. It is a laughable experience, but why pay $9 for laughs when you could just watch a White Sox game when they blow a 5 run lead in the 9th inning?

This movie was nowhere near perfect. It had such potential, although it would've been difficult to best the hype of the first two, but director Brett Ratner fails miserably and should be rather ashamed of himself. I'd love to ask the question why to him, but I'd be very afraid of his answer. He has a rather good background in directing movies, but if I were him I'd leave this one out of his resume. If you were a fan, like I am, of the first two Rush Hour films than you definitely should go and sneak in to see this movie. If you're a die-hard fan than go ahead and pay. Overall I can't recommend this film.

Superbad!! Hilarious? Best movie of the summer? SUPERGREAT??? Ummm.....no?.....how about...oh I dunno....super bad?!?! YES!! That fits this movie perfectly!! The irony right?? Oh god the plot...I mean....oh god..the fucked up plot! Seth(Jonah Hill) and Evan(Michael Cera) are going to different colleges, but before they do they are planning to get laid. They finally get invited to a party, and all they have to bring is some alcohol. With their friend Fogell(Christopher Mintz-Plasse) they plan on making a fake I.D., getting to the party with the booze, and finally getting laid....

Jonah Hill(Seth), Michael Cera(Evan), Christopher Mintz-Plasse(Fogell) all worked together really well in this film. I was surprised because when I seen this trio on screen I though OH GOD..OH GOD NO...but as I said I was surprised and I'm glad. What I'm not happy about isn't their performance which they did the best they could do with the script, but in fact their lines. They were some of the worst lines I've ever heard coming out of actors/actresses mouths. No teenager I've ever come across talks like that, enough said. Fucking ridiculous. Martha MacIssac(Becca), Emma Stone(Jules), Aviva(Nicola) were the three girls the above three guys wanted to get laid by. They all did pretty good jobs, I guess, but the good thing about them was at least they acted like typical girls these days somewhat. They fail here though as well because they still miss the mark of a teenage girl here somewhere....Bill Hader(Officer Slater) and Seth Rogen(Officer Michaels) were the best. So hilarious whenever they were on screen especially the scene at the bar when they were with Fogell, and before near the end when they burn the police squad car.

Their isn't really much for me to say about this movie other than don't spend your money on it...oh wait their was a lot of funny scenes, but you seem to forget those because of all the vulgar and ridiculous lines they were made to say. The writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg aren't good script writers. They arent average script writers either. They shouldn't even be allowed to be called script writers. Seth Rogen can act and should stick to that.

If you do decide to watch this film, I don't know why you would though, their are a few scenes that I think you may particularly enjoy. *Spoilers* The whole Mclovin scene when Fogell gets his fake I.D. is really hilarious. Even the name Mclovin itself is. The scene at the party when the girl ahs her period on Seth will also leave you with quite a lot of erupting chuckles. Every scene with the cops is very enjoyable, and you should actually have someone wake you up whenever htey are on screen. *End of spoilers* Overall I can't recommend this film because..well...it sucks. Seriously just don't watch it. Not even illegally online. Watch Scrubs instead. It's mucho good.

Simpsons Movie: 2 out of 4 Stars

Homer's craving for food really is a turn-off isn't it? Well basically this whole concept of this movie is, but that didnt stop anybody from making it. Springfield orders a clean up of polluted Lake Springfield and bans all waste dumps there. Predictably, Homer Simpson dumps a silo of Pig Crap in it, he screws up his family's, his friend's, and the rest of Springfield's lives. Yeah...not a great plot....who woulda guessed?

The great thing about this review is that the is no acting to talk about, so I don't have to type all that out.

Let's get the good things about this movie out of the way first, so we can talk about the retardedness. The characters all looked great, surprisingly, and their was no real goofs or anything at all. It was just like a newer simpsons episode. The voice over and lip synchronization was perfectly done, and that too surprised me. It was hilarious just like the regular simpsons episodes on t.v. That's pretty much aabout it....oh and I love the simpsons, and it was just like watching a 90 minute simpsons episode...

Everything considered, though, I don't know what the hell David Silverman was thinking. Let alone a lot of the world was thinking when they payed $9 to see a 90 minute long simpsons episode. Yes it was funny. Yes it was the classic simpsons. Yes you can just watch it online. Their was such a retarded plot, and after all is said and done......you feel nothing. You feel cheated and violated that you payed $9 to see a movie with some laughs in it. You get that familiar bad taste in your mouth and you turn to the person next to you and yell "WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING?" He will either say: "What did you expect?" or "I liked it". If it was the latter I know you want to punch him, so..just do so nobody will see. The only reason this movie beats Rush Hour 3 and Superbad in the rating is because it actually exceeded me expectations and I love the Simpsons. Overall I can't recommend this film.

How far would you go for a friend? Two normal, straight, guys are best friends and are Brooklyn firefighters. One, Larry Valentine(Kevin James), was married, and has two kids. The other, Chuck Levine(Adam Sandler), is a major pimp in Brooklyn, and gets all the ladies. Chuck nearly gets seriously injured while in a burned down building, but Larry saves him. It's then that Larry realizes if anything happens to him his two kids will suffer. He then tries to apply for benefits. Their is only one problem. He's not married. He devises a plan with his friend Chuck to pretend they are gay, so his kids won't get screwed over.

I went to see this movie with a friend awhile back around the time when it first was out in theaters. Actually I think about a week after it was out or so. She liked it too, my friend, and actually tried singing some of the songs in the movie. Yes, of course, I mocked her and made fun of her haha.

Adam Sandler(Chuck Levine) I think Adam excels in comedies especially because their is just something about him that screams out funny. In this movie he doesn't disappoint you. He does his role perfectly, and Kevin and him seem to have such a great "feel" for each other on screen and possibly off screen. He also has come along way in his career, and his acting has continued to get better and better. Some critics say he can't play in a film that's categorized under comedy, but why should he bother playing in another genre when he's one of the best in comedy? Stick to what you do best. Kevin James(Larry Valentine) I was unsure whether Kevin would be as funny as he was on his T.V. show "King of Queens". He was even funnier. His preformance is the biggest surprise because from the trailers it looked like Sandler and him would clash. Only that Sandler would excel and James be left in the dust. That's not the case because James is right up their with Sandler in this film. Jessica Biel(Alex McDonough) is not only as attractive as always, but still has her "touch" with her acting career. I thought this movie might be a downfall in her career, but it wasn't the case. Even when she's in bad films such as "Blade: Trinity" she still excels, and actually made that movie in particular worth watching. Dan Aykroyd(Captain Phineas J. Tucker) has an eerie presence about him that was a little odd. He has a big secret, and it's found out halfway through the movie. He gives it away though so obviously, but at least he was not so sucky right? Ving Rhames(Fred G. Duncan) is one of my most hated actors in the world. He can't preform if his life depended on it, and this movie is no different. When he's on screen you groan, and when he's not you'll be happy. He shouldn't have been cast as Captain, but maybe one of the other firefighters.

If you love to laugh you'll especially love this movie because Sandler and James keep you laughing nearly non-stop. You add that with the stunning Jessica Biel, and you definitely will have a worth-while movie even if the plot is lame. Even if you don't love to laugh you'll still laugh in this one though. Just don't be one of those people who is "offended" by this movie. I HATE that person with a passion. The only drawback about this film is that it just doesn't have that one scene or moment in it that really pushes it past being a good film rather than a great one. Overall I definitely recommend this film to everyone.

Every killer lives next door to someone. After his father is killed in a car accident, things go stale fast for Kale (Shia LeBeouf) especially when he's placed under house-arrest. What for? Just punching his Spanish teacher. Kale has to sit around his house being bored everday, until a new neighbor, Mr. Turner(David Morse), moves in. He is very suspicious and one night he thinks he witnesses a murder in Mr. Turner's house. He has many run-ins with Mr. Turner, and, of course, he deals with all this as well as a pretty girl, Ashley(Sarah Roemer), next door. It all comes down to one question though: exactly who is watching who.

I watched this movie, a long time ago obviously, with two friends. One didn't want to come, but we convinced him and was glad we did so. We all had a great and enjoyable time watching this one. He hasn't been to the movies since though...haha.

Shia LeBeouf(Kale) is outstanding in this movie. I grew up watching him on Disney Channel's "Even Stevens", and he has come such a long way from then. Even in his early movie years he was playing "non-essential" roles, but now in this movie and "Transformers" he has proven himself that he can be one of the best with a little bit of work. I'm not sure if he had to share the spotlight completely if that would effect his performance, but I like him a lot as the main character. Ashley(Sarah Roemer) wasn't only really pretty in "The Grudge 2", but in this movie as well. She plays that sexy girl next door role so well it makes you wonder. Has she done this type of thing before? She seems so at ease and so calm while on screen even though she isn't a big star. She has a long, and great career ahead of her. Julie(Carrie-Anne Moss) she plays Trinity in the "Matrix" movies. If that isn't enough for you then just watch the way she moves...just kidding, she completely delivers on the whole mother thing so great it's scary. David Morse(Mr. Turner) plays the creepy role a little TOO well for my taste. He seems like that guy at the park that wants to molest your children....like the one that just sits on the bench by himself you know the type I'm sure you've saw them before. Nevertheless, he preforms very well with his role, and even looks scary. Aaron Yoo(Ronnie) is Kale's best friend in this one, and I have to ask why? He seems like the kid at school who is nerdy at heart yet gets the girls. He's asian though, so I like him even though his acting was over dramatized. Jose Pablo Cantillo(Officer Guiterriez) I don't mention this guy for his acting, but just the fact that this would be the cop that you would always run into at the wrong times. Like you do something stupid and OF COURSE this is the ONE cop that HAS to be the one to catch you doing it all the time.

Many critics, and people, claim that this movie is too much like Rear Window. I disagree so much though. Unlike Rear Window this movie kicked major ass!! True, their was no real plot twists or unique things about this movie, and that is it's drawback, but in every other single aspect it's great. *Spoilers* A few scenes to look out for is the one where Kale has Ashley in his room and she is looking out of his binoculars. Another is the stack of twinkies. Another is when Ashley catches them spying on her and comes over and they hastily clean up. Lastly, when Ashley throws her party, and Kale turns on "Lovin you" by Minnie Riperton. Their are many more, but I'll let you watch. Overall I definitely recommend this film to everyone.

Hard Candy: 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars

Mmmmm..hard candy..yeah that was my best Homer Simpson impersonation...sad I know...just like this movie, not in a bad way though. If you're expecting this movie to be about hard candy or any candy at all actually you will be sadly mistaken. For three weeks now Hayley Stark(Ellen Page) has talking to Lensmaster319, a middle-aged photographer, named Jeff Kohlver(Patrick Wilson). The two agree to meet at a place named Nighthawks. Hayley flirts with Jeff, but gets no real response until she invites herself over to his place. Once at the house, Hayley puts on quite the show....

Their are only two actors to focus on in this movie, but don't be discouraged because they both don't get tiring from their excessive screentime nor go over the top with their lines. Ellen Page(Hayley Stark) delivers on an outstanding level, especially for her age, and is quite cute(she does play a 14 year old but she is actually 20 years old). Page doesnt captivate you with her looks, but instead does so with her great acting performance. That isn't something that is common because most actresses need to captivate you with looks before their acting which isn't the right way to go. Patrick Wilson(Jeff Kohlver) delivers on a slighty lesser stage, but nevertheless a great performance. He plays the role so well without even looking like the type of guy who would be a pedophile. The chemistry between these two make you think that they connected on a high level during or even before movie production, and it definitely shows and adds a lot to the overall appearance of the film.

Saying that this movie amazing repeatedly for hours on end would still not compensate with how amazing it is. It effects you, regardless of age, on such an intense level you will immediately want to re-watch this film. David Slade, with such a touchy subject of pedophilia, could've made this film into something very special or something very horrible....I'm glad he chose the latter. he didn't make the pedophile into some kind of monster or evil person, but instead chose to humanize him which makes you relate to him and try to understand the infinte question: why?

The only real reason this isn't a perfect 4 out of 4 stars is because they could've done more and gone further with this film. By making it longer and adding more scenes with Hayley and Patrick they could've humanized him more, and gave us even more excitement of her being caught, him escaping, etc... Overall I definitely recommend this film to people of ALL ages!!

Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Version): 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars

One ring to rule them all. The first book of the series, after The Hobbit, written by J. R. R. Tolkien. For those who dislike this movie, or this entire series for that matter, you are crap and probably like movies by Kevin Smith. Sauron forged a ring to rule all species, but in a valiant effort by the resistance a man managed to defeat Sauron and take the ring. He can't bring himself to destroy it though, and eventually ends up losting it. The one special ring to rule them all has somehow found its way into the little hands of a hobbit. This leaves the hobbit with a mighty quest to destroy the ring, and a long ways to travel if he hopes to accomplish it. With the helps of a wizard, a dwarf, an elf, two men, and three other hobbits he sets out on his journey. He can not be prepared for what darkness he will meet on his quest, and all he can depend on is the fellowship of the ring. Will the hobbit complete his quest, or will the dark lord Sauron find it and use it for his will once again?

I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow this extended movie editon from my friend Stefan. He always talked about having me borrow it to watch it because he wanted to see if I liked the extended version better or not. Well, I have one thing to say to him and that is: Yes.

Elijah Wood(Frodo Baggins) gives us a show for a lifetime. Not once does his facial expressions falter, or his tone of voice go off cue. He delivers his lines perfectly like you would expect the real Frodo from the books to do. Oscar-winning performance hands down. Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee) delivers an outstanding performance second to Wood's. Astin is a really great actor, but it sadden my heart when he has to do roles in movies that a lesser actor could do. For example 50 First Dates he plays Doug Whitmore, and it's sad because Astin has so much talent, and nobody is putting that to use in their movies. Viggo Mortensen(Aragron) is amazing to say the least. Aragorn is my favorite character from the book and movie, but Mortensen is a major reason why. He has the rugged/I've been through so much look that a "ranger/king" like Aragorn should have. He never fails to impress you with the steady facial expressions of a man who is strong willed and hearted, but still has a saddened heart when others aroud him become emotional. Orlando Bloom(Legolas Greenleaf) does an awesome job like he does in EVERY movie he's in. Whether he is Legolas battling Orcs and trying to kill more than Gimli, or if he's battling pirates and creatures of the deep with Sparrow and Elizabeth he is always the right man to fit just about any role you want him too. John Rhys-Davies(Gimli) does a good job, but nothing really to brag about. His lack of screen time may be what's at fault here though because he does a good job otherwise when he is hacking away on orcs, and making funny quirks about elves. Ian McKellen(Gandalf) not only shows us he can be a nice guy other than the evil Magneto from X-men, but shows us that the more screen time he gets the better he performs. His fight with Saruman(Christopher Lee) falls on deaf ears though because it's short, and nowhere near as good as it was in the book. Sean Bean(Boromir) the only reason I'm even acknowledging his performance is because of the end of this movie. *Spoiler* when he is trying to save Pippin and Merry from the Orcs, he keeps fighting and forces the leader of the Orcs to shoot him with 3 arrows to finally put an end to his resistance. His dramatic display at the end of this movie actually does salvage the mediocre performance he puts on during the previous scenes. Peregrin Took/Pippin (Billy Boyd) and Meriadoc Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan) play the roles of Frodo's fellow hobbit friends othen than Samwise. I don't really like these two because they bumble and fumble around the screen the whole time, like the plot to a Bourne movie, while they attempt to look and act funny. Their acting is average at least though, and they dont ruin the movie at all so I guess they're alright.

Everyone who worked on this film, especially director Peter Jackson, earns a well-deserved dozen pat on the backs. The script, editing, camera angles, special effects, you name it are nearly flawless in every way you can imagine. As I've said in a past review acting can carry a movie to a certain point, but what makes it a movie is the things I mentioned just beforehand. All of these put together make a quality film that deserves to be in the all-time list of movies. Not once do you not believe you aren't actually in the Shire or battling Orcs along with Aragorn and the others. Nothing looks fake because it all looks original to you. The overall effectiveness of this movie is amazing. Throughout the entire movie you feel a very wide range of emotions, and you become: angry, sad, afraid, happy, laughable, shocked, amazed, etc. I'd do a standout scene paragraph, but watch the movie and then you'll see that every scene would be in that category.

Their are only two drawbacks in this film, and I honestly wish their wasn't any at all because I wanted to give this movie a perfect 4 out of 4. One is the fact that the movie drags somewhat. It isn't because of the running time, even though it is longer than a lot of movies, but it's because of the fact that some scenes are developed too far when their isn't need to do that. This causes the overall effect to be a little less than what it should be. Overall I definitely recommend this film all the way!

I Know Who Killed Me: 1 1/2 out of 4 Stars

As Lindsay Lohan discovers who her "killer" really is she says: I know who killed me. I think I died watching this movie...but was awoken by the annoying ringing and/or irritating noises of peoples cell phones. A small town(I have no idea what the name is) is a victim of a sadistic killer. Sooner rather than later, he sets his eyes on Aubrey Fleming(Lindsay Lohan). She is a young, bright girl with a lot of potential, and when she goes missing it causes quite the stir. After awhile someone eventually finds her, in a ditch, and she is taken to the hospital. After she awakes she insist that she is not Aubrey Fleming, but, in fact, a girl named Dakota Moss. Is she really who she says she is, is she just hiding what really happened to the police, or is something even bigger going on?

The aura that my friend Stefan and I had while going into this movie wasn't pleasant. After it ended, it was slightly better, although, still foul smelling. The car ride their was full of funny times, and lots of talking as always. While in the movie though, other than the movie experience itself, I was getting inreasingly angered at the retarded teenagers because they left their cell phones on. One time in particular I nearly yelled out "turn that shit off" partly because it was a rap song and partly because it kept happening over and over again.

Oh god..the acting part..I mean...yes now for the acting part of this movie yay!! Okay..a little TOO enthused their. Lindsay Lohan(Aubrey Fleming/Dakota Moss) does a great job in this film. No, no, no, I'm NOT joking, or trying to upset you. I'm only telling you the truth. If she could control/change her facial expressions more, though, she would've had an awesome performnace. She delivered a goal-surpassing level in my eyes, and I'm impressed. Neal McDonough also knows as Neal Mcdonalds Doughnuts(Aubrey/Dakota's dad) does an average job, but what did you really expect from the doughnut man? He makes a mean charcoal grilled burger though let me tell you! Julia Ormond(Aubrey/Dakota's mom) not only looks cute on screen, but adds a sense of "mother-ness" and humor to the screen. Her performance is good, but nowhere near Lohan's. Thomas Tofel(Douglas Norquist) plays Aubrey's painist. I don't know what the director(Chris Siverston) was on when he allowed this man to play this part, but I'm disgusted. Not only can he not act, but he looks stupid, awkward, and sluggish on screen. *Major Spoiler* At the end of the movie we find out he is the sadistic master mind behind the limb-cutting murders. This is a surprising and unexpected twist, but he fails to deliver especially at one of the ending scenes where Aubrey kills him, his performance in that scene was the worst I've ever saw in a movie my entire life. That is something to really think about becuase I've seen a lot of movies and I've sat through Hostel AND Hostel 2. The best part would have to be that before you know it's him he looks like one of the guys from the blue man group. It makes this film hilarious whenever he is on screen even when he cuts people up becuase you just laugh and think hahahaha one of the blue man group members. If only he didnt wear blue gloves and hat and such. This man nearly made me cry and vomit at the same time. He nearly makes me envy Eli Roth..I said nearly!! *end of spoiler* Brian Geragty(Jerrod Pointer) looks shy, awkward, confused, and sweaty on screen. He also sort of walked with a hunch-back which was mildly amusing.

The actual good parts about this movie are very rare. This movie had so much potential if only they would've actually read the script instead of using it as a napkin for their drool while they masturbated to Lohan. The fact that the whole movie ties together using the color blue is an amazing idea although they still could've done so much more than they did. The owls were a nice touch, but never really expanded upon. *Spoiler* When Dakota Moss and Mrs. Fleming are watching the video tape of inside Mrs. Fleming's womb when Aubrey was in their is an immensely emotional moment. Dakota ends up crying along with Aubrey's mother when watching this even though she doesn't even know Aubrey's parents. The last highlight would have to be Lohan's great performance, and the fact that she neglected to do any nudity for this film. I actually am beginning to respect her again, and again I'm impressed with her.

Their are many drawbacks about this film, and I've mentioned many already. Basically if you can name/think of it then it was bad. The soundtrack, the editing, the camera angles, the script was all trash. Even if they would've put slighty more effort into this film by trimming the loose ends and edges it would've been so much more succesful. Once again, though, it had so much potential, and even if they would've tied it all together without loose ends it would've made the difference. Overall I can't recommend this film. It's a shame that they wasted all this potential though.

No one lasts more than an hour in room 1408. Trust me, despite it's comfortable and comfy appearace, it's no party. Based off the book from infamous author Stephen King, Mike Enslin (John Cusack) becomes obsessed with the supernatural after his daughter dies. He travels to different areas which claim to have paranormal activity, and writes books about all the places he's been in. He doesn't believe in spirits or ghosts or demons, and when he hears about room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel he is sure it's another hoax. After a valiant persuasive effort by hotel manager Gerald Olin(Samuel L. Jackson), Enslin checks in to room 1408.

Basically I have this movie on dvd, and was let down on it's overall performance. It was the perfect setting though because I watched it last night when it was storming really hard, and the power even went out a few times. That's not to mention my house is haunted(no not lieing) and I kept hearing weird noises and laughing on top of everything.

Fortunately, for me and you, the acting part of this review will be rather short and sweet. John Cusack(Mike Enslin) is about the only person in this movie who actually does his job. He shows that he can force different emotions on his face, and displays that he is incredibly good at acting like he's terrified/confused. Other than that, though, he tells us that he has the acting talent of Seth Green in "Without A Paddle." Mary McCormack(Lisa Enslin) is too over the top in every scene she is in, and it's just sad because she can do much better. Jasmine Jessica Anthony(Katie Enslin) not only gets our attention because she has three first names, but also becuase when the movie calls for her to act the part of a sick/DYING girl she just wasn't into it. Samuel L. Jackson(Gerald Olin) is just funny. Everytime he was on screen I got sudden urges to snicker. Half the time all I hear is him shouting at Cusack with no emotion involved at all. Sadly, the best acting was done by Alexandra Silber(The reporter lady at the book signing) because she was actually believable which nobody else was in this movie.

The only great parts in this movie is the psychology behind it all. The whole storyline, and cinematography is so well put together, and that alone makes this movie enjoyable. If only the acting was as good. The best part of the movie is the theme though. *Spoiler* Room 1408 is all about the demons inside yourself. This movie doesnt come close to the book, but all in all this movie still leaves you with a feeling of awe and concern for the characters in the movie. Overall, I do recommend this film because it is a thriller that is actually WORTH seeing. Unlike many of the recent and no so recent thriller failures.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: 3 out of 4 Stars

"You will lose everyting"...Well apparently Voldermort lies!! At least for the time being... Yes, it's the long awaited Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at long last!! After a long, lonely summer on Privet Drive, Harry returns to a Hogwarts. Few students and parents believe him or Dumbledore that Voldemort is really back. The ministry has decided to step in by appointing a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher that proves to be one hell of a bitch. Harry has insightful yet horrible dreams he can't explain, and a mystery item thatVoldemort is searching for. And to think with all these things going on he still has time to try and get with that ho Cho Chang.

Saturday afternoon. The theater wasn't crowded, so I was a bit worried. I had hoped for a near packed seating. All the hype in the infamous webstite imdb.com was that this movie blew chunks. Obviously it didn't and as usual people on imdb.com don't know quality movies. In short, they probably went to see Hostel 2 instead of Harry Potter.. I don't know why they'd rather see Eli Roth's 90 minutes in hell (thank you Stefan) instead of a great film. Anyways, I was supposed to go with four people to see this movie, but it just ended up to be jsut me and my buddy Stefan. It was probably better that way because well the other two were girls and girls are gay. Just joking. Kind of. Rawr.

Out of all the Harry Potter movies that were made so far this one had, by far, the best acting to date. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), displays his true abilities with his best performance of the series. It was actually quite shocking to my friend and myself that he was able to show as much emotion as he did in this film. I'm looking forward, even more so now, to the 6th movie of the series because of his stellar acting in this one. Emma Watson (Hermione) once again delivers a level performance. She hasn't been getting progressively better as the movies have gone on, but she still always delivers the same quality performance everytime which im glad to see. Maybe she is saving her best for the last of the series? Who knows? Time will tell. And YES YES she IS cute! Rupert Grint (Ronald Weasley) continues and continues to give us a good performance. That isn't even to mention he has the perfect look to the part while playing it so well. With the acting, this time around, for the trio I believe it is at it's best. The chemistry between them seems to have grown by many lengths from Goblet of Fire to Order of the Phoenix, and I'm impressed. Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) and Ralph Fiennes(Lord Voldermort) are both impressive with Gambon's emotion, while Fiennes doesn't over deliver his lines as he has in the past. *Spoiler* Most impressive, though, is the fight scene near the end between the two because it puts the Gandalf and Saruman(from Lord of the Rings Two Towers) fight to shame. Jason Isaacs(Lucius Malfoy) and Tom Felton(Draco Malfoy) are still both irritating (in a good way) to the point where they act, sound, and look how you always pictured them while reading the book. Speaking of irritating Imelda Staunton(Dolores Umbridge) does another GREAT job in this movie, and is award deserving again. What I like the most is that David Yates(director) replaces the hatred you feel for her in the book and puts it back on the screen in the same way if not more so. Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall) does another good job as her character. She still gives off the impression of McGonagall in the book on screen. The teacher that whenever you do something wrong she's always their and you're like oh shit....then she still lets you off the hook most times. Gary Oldman(Sirius Black) won't be returning for the remaining movies, but I'm glad we got the preformances we've got out of him. He is a good actor, and deserves to retire from acting after a great career. Helena Bonham Carter( Bellatrix Lestrange) not only gives me that feeling of wow she's a psychopathe like I did everyday in my high school while seeing the girls their, but she shows us she still can act. A lot of people I conversate with(is that even a word?) say that she is on the downfall of her career, but I just dont see it. Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) still gives us that old creepy/eerie/hateful feeling on screen that we also got from him in the book, so we know he's doing his job still. Matthew Lewis(Neville Longbottom) and Evanna Lynch(Luna Lovegood) both perhaps the weirdest/oddest of the group add a certain normalcy to the film because their are always weird yet great people in a group of friends. Bonnie Wright(Ginny Weasley) does a good job although she doesn't have many lines for some reason, but then again Ginny is shy in the book, so maybe that's what Yates was going for. But I'd personally like to see her get more lines in the next film instead of just standing their looking pretty and showing off her power*spoiler* like when she blasts a death eater and then all the rows of prophecy's come tumbling down. Finally, I saved the best for last, Natalia Tena(Nymphadora Tonks) not only brings a certain "fun" to the film while she is on screen along with a good acting performance, but most importantly is incredibly cute. She's my personal favorite in the book and the films by far, and closely resembles what I'd always thought she'd look like save for the purple hair instead of pink as in the book.

This movie's greatest elements would have to be the main message it portrays. Friendship and love are two of the most important things in life NO MATTER what else is happening around you. It is sensed so strong throughout the film, and quite possibly could bring a few wet eyes to the audience especially in the end. Their are many good/great scenes in this movie like: *spoiler* The Voldermort/Dumbledore fight, The death eaters surrounding Harry and his friends in the Department of Mysteries, when Voldermort tries to posses Harry,Snape's flashback, etc... The acting in this movie along with the amazing special effects and editing are really what brings this movie from average to great though.

The drawbacks in this movie really aren't too apparent because their are only two. The main one being that this movie lacks an overall standout emotional/memorable scene. Yates seems to try to do this with many different scenes(some stated above), but doesn't deliver in this aspect which causes this movies rating to drop a near whole star. The second(yet not nearly as important) drawback would have to be the particular scenes that cut off the film from the book. Like I said the first drawback causes the movie to drop from a perfect 4 stars to a 3 1/4 rating then combine it with the second drawback to make it an even 3 stars. This film is definitely recommended. Also I definitely suggest purchasing this movie along with the rest of the series, and the 7th book which comes out really soon!!

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer: 2 1/2 out of 4 Stars

What's wrong with not being normal?? It's the Fantastic Four in a Fantastic movie!! Well....no...not exactly...The Craptastic Four..actually the FANTASTIC FOUR are back once again! The story starts off as Susan Storm(Jessica Alba) and Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) are getting married. Meanwhile a disturbance is being caused worldwide. A type of radiation energy is causing craters, power outages, and destruction. It even forces Susan and Richard's wedding to come to a "crashing" hault. The Fantastic Four must discover what or who is causing these things to happen, and as they unravel the mystery they learn some things aren't that simple.

I was able to see this movie for free because I have it on dvd, and didn't expect much going into it. I was surprised though at the leap Tim Story(The director) made from the 1st film to this 2nd one. The first one barely got a half-star rating from myself, but this one showed me that they actually gave some effort into this film instead of letting Kevin Smith come in and take a huge shit on it. Thankfully they didn't let him do that this time around....well..actually...he still did take a shit, but this time around they cleaned up, and tried to make a movie out of it.

The acting this time around wasn't nearly as horrendous as it was in the 1st film. Jessica Alba(Susan Storm) does all that she can with the role and lines she is given. She delivers nicely, and although she looks waaaaaaay to skinny, she still presents a certain zing to every film she is in no matter what. That isn't even to mention she is quite the looker. Ioan Gruffudd(Reed Richards) almost makes me gag everytime he's on screen. His acting isn't all THAT bad, but every second of screen time they give him makes me wonder why oh why couldn't have Tim Story just have had auditions outside his house instead of casting Gruffudd. Chris Evans(Johnny Storm) his acting isn't what kills him it was his lines. The kind of lines they try and make him pull of doesn't fit his look. He can act the part, but he can't pull of the look. All in all behind Alba he does the 2nd best. Michael Chiklis(Ben Grimm) voice is perfect as in the last film. I can't really rate him in this category because he is made of rock and I'd have to have the brain of my 7th grade reading/study skills teacher to actually think that rock could show emotion. Laurence Fishburne{The Silver Surfer (voice)} is the voice of the elite villian Silver Surfer. I don't know if it was where Tim Story's mom went wrong in bringing him up or whether it was the matter of money, but why the fuck(excuse the language) would you pick FISHBURNE of ALL people to be the voice of the Silver Surfer?!?!?!!? I mean I'd rather have Vin Diesel play him and I HATED the Chronicles of RiddleDick!! *Slight Spoiler* Julian McMahon(Victor Von Doom) is back. No I'm not lieing to you. His acting isn't anything great once again, so if you're one of his fans(if he has any) don't get excited. His lines fit him well though because he sounds just as he looks. Annoying. I'd still love to just turn into the Hulk and with a flick of my finger send him flying across the United States...

Although they're very limited standout scenes in this movie they're are a few good qualities that try and make up for that. And to get this out of the way: YES the special effects were just as great this time around as well!! *Spoilers* When the Silver Surfer flies through buildings, cars, and whatever else he flew through lol, the waves and backlash look amazing. The Silver Surfer looks amazing period to be exact. Every scene he's in wakes you up(sometimes literally) and you are like woa! And forces you to ask the person next to you okay what's going on? What did I miss? The emotion in this film will leave many dry eyes in the audience, but at least this time around you can feel (no not RAW emotion) lots of little twinges that tug at your heart, and after the entire film you grab the person next to you and scream: DO YOU FEEL THAT? CAN THIS BE TRUE?!!? I ACTUALLY FELT SOMETHING AFTER A FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIE? Well I can assure you, that you did in fact feel something. Whether it was from the film or from below your pants cause your hand was their during the whole time Alba was on screen is for you to know and keep to yourself. Also I liked the fact that they chose random ass scenery in this film. It actually made it work who woulda thunk it?? Finally, I have to admit, the humor actually got to me quite a few times in this movie. I know, I KNOW, but it did! With a line like "He's going to get an invisible kick in the balls" how can you go wrong??

The drawbacks in this movie were evident in the 1st as well. The main one is the lack of overall effect. You go into this movie feeling almost the same way you came into it. Probably sick. At least this time around you might have a few singes on your heart becuase of the bits and pieces of emotion. Secondly, the lack of acting talent just pulls your interest level in this movie waaaaaaaay down, and you can become easily distracted by the shiny object in the corner...ooooh sooooo shiny!!! But Tim Story seems to counter this with giving Jessica Alba as much screen time as possible which well I'm not exactly complaining about, but I mean....she can really eat 10 pounds of pasta cause she seems to keep losing weight. Thirdly, you don't really get too much out of the movie as a whole. The only thing you get is if you different it's okay, and not to be a conceited prick. The first one seems to be over-used throughout many recent films, and the 2nd one I'd be glad to tell you each and everyday when you wake up. Under a review for everyone these points that this movie lacks causes it to drop to a rating of 2 out of 4 stars, and therefore I can't recommend this film unless you have some sort of knowledge of the Fantastic Four other than this film and the 1st than go and see it you'll enjoy it. Overall, I can't recommend this film to everyone, but only people like myself that have prior experience with the Fantastic Four. My rating for people with prior knowledge: 2 1/2 out of 4 Stars. My rating for people with no previous knowledge: 2 out of 4 Stars.

Transformers Review: 3 out of 4 Stars

Does the hype of Transformers and all the publicity it's recieving stay true during the movie? One word answer: Yes. Not to mention Transformers truely is: "More than meets the eye." Yes, it's true, I am a big Transformers fan ever since I was a little kid thinking one day, just one day, I could be like Mark Grace, or Sammy Sosa. In this amazing movie Shia Labeouf(Sam Witwicky) is back as the main character and is looking for his first car. The car salesman(played by Bernice mac) and he tells Sam that you don't pick the car, the car picks you, at first he refuses to sell the car for $4000 sam and his dad offer, but negotiations are made after a series of amusing events. The car Sam picks out is an old, rusted Camaro, who unknown to him is Bumblebea, one of the autobots. The reason the Autobot Bumblebea is here is to find a special item the Allspark, before the Decepticons find it. Eventually all the Autobots and Decepticons arrive at Earth in search of the Allspark and they have their own war on Earth. The government knows all about the Allspark and about Megatron(The Decepticon leader) so the Decepticons hack their network. Sam and his love interest Mikaela Banes(played by the delicious Megan Fox), are taken into military custody for having direct contact with the autobots and are ordered to help the government destroy them because the government already knows why they are here...

I was in arlington heights again spending the night at a friend's house, when we decided to go see Transformers because my friend thought it would be "the truth". I agreed. Probably in part because I was a huge fan, I always watched the cartoon and even have the toys of them. Not that I still play with them.... ANYWAYS!! Their was one problem: he didn't have any money. Their was only one solution: sneak into the movies. It was quite easy except for the fact that LeStouf was their guarding, ( a huge offensive lineman from my friends football team). Eventually i managed to hold open the door without LeStouf seeing and we snuck in like all cool and professional like, luckily we were on the correct side or else we woulda been fucked.

The acting in this movie was quite pleasant for the most part. Although a few didn't preform up to potential it generally didn't take away from the movies overall effectiveness. Nobody in this movie did an oscar deserving preformance but that shouldn't be what makes the movie. Shia LaBeouf's (Sam Witwicky) preformance was great but not as top-notch as it was in Disturbia. In Disturbia it was quite evident that he was preforming at his potential, but here it was still great but he couldn've been much better. He is quite a good actor though and will only get better. I imagine many great things to come out of him and many more roles for him to fill in movies in the future. He seems to have a knack for movies with added comedy in it but I believe he can do many different things. I'm glad I will have more to remember him by other than the classic Disney show: Even Stevens. Megan Fox (Mikaela Banes), although very easy on the eyes didn't preform up to par in this movie. It wasn't her facial expressions that were her drawback but her overall delivery of her lines in this movie that fell flat. She's only 21 though so i can still date her...i mean the age difference is only 3 years...damnit!!!! ! i mean her acting will become more fluent in time. Josh Duhamel's (Captain Lennox), performance was quite believeable which I was surprised by because often times military roles are hard to fill because even if you can deliver you may not get the audience to believe you'd be a soldier. Duhamel does both of these though and as I found myself watching I was a believer. I believe it was one of his more solid efforts he has done in awhile. Rachael Taylor's (Maggie Madsen), preformance was near believable although I kept asking myself she would pull this off better as the movie went on...it never happened. She was mediocre throughout the film although quite pretty. Anthony Anderson's (Glen Whitmann) preformance was how it usually is. Just above average. You usually don't see much more from him but then again he never really gets the oppurtunity to show just how good he can be. Tyrese Gibson's (USAF Tech Sergeant Epps) preformance was one of the lowest of his career. I liked him in Waist Deep and 2 Fast 2 Furious even though I didn't enjoy either of those movies. He just isn't believable... Jon Voight's (Defense Secretary John Keller) preformance was as expected for me. I love this guy he just plays his parts so well and doesn't try and go over the top with it or try to hard. He does what he needs to and goes home. Good man. Solid Actor. John Turturro's (Agent Simmons) preformance was great! Although I've never heard about him before the movie: O Brother Where Art Thou, I've kept a closer eye on him. His preformance in Mr. Deeds was great as well although in this movie he outdoes himself as far as Mr. Deeds though. In this movie he was the best I've ever seen him.

Their was a lot that stood out in this film but certain scenes, the actors/actresses lines, and the themes did it for me. The script writer for this film is a genious. I can't find who exactly it was but i just want to tell him: Thank you. That isn't even to mention Michael Bay! He is one of my favorite directors and everytime he makes a film I get excited. The themes in this movie were very important ones that weren't all that obvious because this film has enough to keep you occupied. The two that I liked the most for me were you can't trust the government and revenge isn't always as sweet as expected. Their are countless scenes I could mention here, but I'd end up talking about nearly every scene in the movie. Some noteables to look out for when you watch are: every scene Shia Labeouf is in he's a riot and does a great job in this film. The humor involved which involves Shia Labeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro, and the Transformers. The classic Transformer fight scenes just watch and be amazed. Then go back and watch again to soak up the raw emotion throughout the film especially the Transformer fight scenes. Everyway you look at how this movie is made it comes out looking like fresh roses. Their is so much more, but I wont discuss any further.

The problem with the drawbacks in this movie weren't the quantity, but the quality. One main thing is the fighting scenes. Although they were amazingly made and put together, some of them are hard to keep up with. This happens a little too often, and I'm sure it was hard enough to just put everything together. The second reason was the small screen time some of the Decepticons had in this film. The last main reason was the film seemed kinda rushed. As with King Kong I wouldn't have minded staying at least 15 minutes later to see a few more scenes. The overall acting was about a B- which only affected the rating a tad though. I encourage people of all ages to see this film because it is solid throughout and even if you're not a fan you will enjoy yourself especially with the added dosage of humor this film brings with it. This film is definitely recommended.

Pirates Of The Caribbean At World's End Review: 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars

Did no one come to save me just because they missed me? These are the infamous words of my favorite among pirates Captain Jack Sparrow. Yes! That's right! Jack and his crew are back for another adventure, but the rum.....is.....still....gone. In this 3rd film of the trilogy Elizabeth, Will and the rest of the crew sail off the edge of the map (literally) with the unlikely help of Tia Dalma and Captain Barbossa. We learn that Jack has been condemned to remain in Davey Jones' locker for eternity. But rescuing Jack isn't the only problem of this movie because Lord Beckett has control over the heart of Davey Jones, and with that he controls the sea. The nine pirate lords of the world must unite for a final stand against Beckett, Davey Jones and the British Navy.

I went into seeing this movie very surprised I was even going. My friends had stopped by my work and becuase I was getting off early i was able to accompany them to the movie theater. I went in excited and ready for another great pirate adventure led by Jack Sparrow. The only thing I was afraid of was being letdown by the 3rd movie like so many other trilogy's have happen to them. That isn't even to mention a lot of negative feedback from other friends of mine. I realized they must've not watched the movie, been on their periods, were making out with their boyfriend/girlfriend, or just plain out stupid.

The acting in this movie, by most characters, was amazing and somewhat shocking. Johnny Depp(Jack Sparrow) was phenomenal as usual. I can't see anybody else being able to replace him in this role because the look of him, his movements, and his body language compliment him throughout all three films. He is my favorite actor, so I do rate him harder than others, but without a shadow of a doubt he will still steal your heart away with his acting. Keira Knightley(Elizabeth Swann) not only stuns us with the standout performance of all three films, but even more amazingly is even more sexy in the outfits she wears this time around. Orlando Bloom(Will Turner) aka Legolas, didn't exceed my expectations of him as he did in the 2nd film but still does a bang up job. What makes him special this time around is he is given more of Jack's style which makes him more enjoyable. Geoffrey Rush(Barbossa) deserves yet another round of applause with his appearance in this film. His unique tone of voice he adds to Barbossa's character goes unmatched. Bill Nighy(Davey Jones) although is mostly the squidlike animal, surpises me when *spoiler* Naomie Harris(Tia Dalma) turns him human his facial expressions were exactly how they should be and he proved he is a special actor just for that. Kevin Mcnally(Gibbs) has a standout performance himself just because it seems like he saved his best for last in the retrospect that he tried his absolute hardest this time around and it worked for him. The only drawback in acting would be Jack Davenport(Norrington) for when he is on screen either looks: lost, confused, hazy, or just plain out spacing out.

The title of glowing soundtrack keeps it's name as the chosen songs are a gem when used with the particular scenes they are assigned. *Their are many spoilers ahead* Their are countless standout scenes within this movie, and I'm sure I'll miss a few. In the beginning when all the pirates are being hung the young boy who starts singing. You can feel the raw emotion lift off the screen and into your hearts as you hear the cruel Beckett aka Dickhead command to kill them. When we are in the room where Elizabeth and Barbossa are talking to one of the pirate kings where will is captured, it actually looks as if it is set in the right place and that it would look exactly like that. That's not to mention the fact that it's one of those scenes where they kickass and is laughable. As we watch Elizabeth, Barbossa, and Will sail their ship off the end of the world, you feel as if you're being pulled downwards with them. Then as if done purposely we are introduced to the first scene with Jack in it admist a scene where he clearly has a few screws loose. It begins my him sniffing around for a peanut and ending with him talking, yelling, and killing numerous other Jack Sparrows. That's not to mention that he's follwed by rocks!! I will skip a few scenes and cut to the scene where the Pearl and Flying Dutchman are fighting over a swirl in the water(the name of this thing escapes me) it all looks so real and believeable that I completely forgot it was all staged becuase i was so focused in. Finally the scene at the end where Elizabeth and Will are on the island is that of beauty. Not only does Elizabeth look stunning, but again the raw emotion that leaks out into your heart nearly makes you want to shed a tear or two. If u want any more details about a scene ask and I can tell you but that will be all for that right now.

The drawbacks of this movie are very limited. *Spoilers* When all the pirate lords are in the meeting room and Captain Teague comes out and is supposedly the keeper of the rules he fails. he doesn't look all that menacing and I began thinking Barbossa would own this guy if it came down to that. The acting by Norrington which i mentioned before was also a sad display, but Beckett wasn't too good himself this time around besides his facial expressions which always have made him look like a dickhead. The last drawback of this movie is the fact that I dont know where and I don't know how but it slightly dragged just a tad. Now I will end this with if u like pirates, Keira Knightley, laughing ur ass off, then see this movie, but please dont see it just to make out with your boyfriend/girlfriend! Use her parents house for that, you wont get caught trust me cause I'm ballin'! With that being said this film is definitely recommended.

Nancy Drew Review: 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars

Sleuthing! No I didn't just curse and obscenity at you or verbally sexually insult you, so don't be alarmed. Sleuthing is what Nancy Drew (played by Emma Roberts) does best. Well, other than being incredibly adorable and cute throughout the movie. The plot is about: Amazingly cute Nancy Drew is a fantastic detective known throughout River Heights, but her dad might be getting a new job in L.A. so she has to accompany him. Her dad asks her to stop sleuthing, but they rent a house with a mystery inside involving a dead famous actress and a scary caretaker. Andrew Fleming takes this film to a new level.

The funny thing is when my friend and I went to go see this movie we were like man we can't tell anyone we're going to see this. Also when we were looking for the number 19 we were talking outloud saying: yeah so lets go see that new movie Fantastic Four not Nancy Drew! HAHA wat a joke! I mean, Fantastic Four is craptacular so I'm sure everyone still thought we were going to see Nancy Drew. Besides I'd rather go see Hostel 2 then Fantastic Four becuase at least I'd get some substance out of that movie even though it's a -2 out of 4 stars in my book before I've even seen it. This movie didn't surprise me much though because I assumed it would be pretty good going into it, but I definitely couldnt believe when it turned out to be one of the best.

The acting in this movie can only be explained with one word: phenomenal. Emma Roberts, playing Nancy Drew, not only does a superb job by being entertaining, cute, believeable, cute, funny, and cute, she actually looks like if this were a true story she would be the girl. Josh Flitter, who plays Corky, does a really good job. In all of his parts he makes you laugh by just being himself. It looks like it's all natural for him also, which is a major bonus. His arm movements, voice, and because he's chubby all add to his character in a way to his advantage. Max Thieriot, who plays Ned Nickerson, doesn't get a lot of screen time, but with what he does with it shows he has a lot of potential for upcoming movies he may star in. Rachael Leigh Cook, who plays Jane Brighton, does a great job as well especially *spoiler* the scene at the end when she finds out the caretaker is her father *end of spoiler* She too makes her character believeable and yes just to make all the guy out their happy she is kinda cute. Also Marshall Bell, who plays Leshing the caretaker, looks exactly like the type of scary caretaker you'd have in your dreams. The rest of the actors did a good job as well, but these were the standouts of the movie.

This next thing is hard for me to admit because I'm a straight guy...but whoever was made in charge to decide on the clothing and apparel of all the characters is a complete genious! Especially Nancy Drew's clothing she looks completely adorable in all of her outfits. The soundtrack was good. Not great, but they did the best they could with the movie. I mean, come on now, what selection of tracks would go with this movie other than the ones they found??

Now is time for the drawbacks. Yes, I loved this movie but it wasn't perfect. Some of the plot points become dull, possibly due to the fact that it's a kid's movie but still it just seems a little too bland. The overall flavor of the movie is moist like a freshly baked cookie, but a few too many parts feel over-explained and dry like the turkey u forget to check that sits in the over for that extra 15 minutes. This movie is suitable for all ages because tonight their were all ages watching it in the theater and all enjoyed it. I will be getting this movie when it comes out on dvd without a look of shame on my face. I wont even use my Cubs hat to cover it either! This film is definitely recommended.

Shrek 3 Review: 3 out 4 Stars

Who's ready for thirds? I have to admit I was thoroughly surprised by this movies quality and storyline. My friend and I were going to see Knocked Up, but I thought forget that let's just go see Shrek 3. I walked up the aisle to my seat not expecting much, but I got a nice surprise in return.

The most shocking element in this movie was, perhaps, the storyline/plot. I mean, you have to admit, after shrek 2 and you heard their was going to be a 3rd you were like: WTF? what can they possibly add to this?? The basic plot is: Shrek's father in law becomes ill so Shrek is next in line to be the king of Far, Far Away. Shrek doesn't want this though because he wants to stay in his swamp with his beloved Fiona. Shrek then must go on a quest with his two faithful companions Donkey, and my personal favorite Puss in Boots to get Arthur, or Artie as he likes to be called, to be the new king. On their travels they get into a few tight spots and meet some interesting people. Meanwhile, Prince Charming takes over the castle of Far, Far Away, until Fiona and other classic characters decide to take back their castle themselves.

That's it for the storyline, but that isn't the only great thing Chris Miller leaves you with. The actors involved in this, yes i know they dont act but you only hear their voice, are superb choices. Well, besides Timberlake, because the only thing I like about him is his song bringing sexy back. I know they've had the same ones every movie but it's just how can you go wrong with Austin Powers Mike Myers, Dr. Dolittle's Eddie Murphy, The Sweetest Thing's sexy Cameron Diaz, and Zorro's Antonio Banderas?

I have to give props to all the animators as well because I know that stuff isn't easy. They do a great job and everything does look realistic, besides the fact that they are fairytale creatures and characters. Also how can i forget to mention this till now?!!? THE SOUNDTRACK! I couldn't have done better myself! Two standouts obviously are Baracuda and Immigrant song from Heart and Led Zeppelin respectively.

Now the bad parts...yes of course movies aren't perfect! As far as spoofs go their wasn't any drastic ones that I caught, but when you compare this movies laugh-o-meter (yes their IS such a thing) it doesn't compare. Not even close actually which is a major down point and why I gave this movie 3 stars out of 4. This movie is suitable for all ages because it can be enjoyed be all. This film is definitely recommended.
